Tyler Smith - Founder and Managing Attorney

 

Tyler founded this law firm in 2007.  Prior to starting the law firm Tyler last worked for Microsoft.  Tyler is a City Counselor for the City of Hubbard, was past chairman of the City Planning Commission and in the past worked for the DLCD and Big Look Commission as a policy analyst during the first round of recommendations they made to the legislature.  Tyler worked heavily on one of the few land use reform recomendations finally adopted by the Legislature giving some local control back to regions by making the regionalization process simpler and more meaningful.  Tyler was a past re-founder of the Willamette Law Federalist Society, Law Journal Articles Editor, and Moot Court Member.  During law school he worked as a law clerk at O'Donnell and Clark LLP. Tyler established himself as one of the most successful and respected Silicon Valley headhunters early in his career.  Tyler is a former Army Combat Engineer and attended the Oregon Military Academy.

Beau Ellis - Associate Attorney

 

Prior to joining Tyler Smith & Associates P.C., Beau worked as a law clerk for the law firm of O’Donnell Clark & Crew in Portland, Oregon, where his primary focus was in the litigation of personal injury, land use, and charter school issues. Beau also worked for Oregonians In Action, and was very involved in the fight against Oregon Ballot Measure 49 (2007) and has experience with many land use and real property issues.

 

Beau graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law in May of 2009. While there, he was heavily involved with Moot Court activities. Beau was selected to be a member of Gonzaga’s Saul Lefkowitz Trademark and Unfair Competition appellate advocacy competition. Beau was very successful in intraschool moot court activities as well, winning the 2008 Linden Cup Competition, which was judged by members of the Washington and Idaho Supreme Courts. Beau also spent a semester as a Rule 9 extern prosecutor for the Spokane County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, where he handled a variety of motion and appearance dockets.

 

Prior to attending Gonzaga, Beau graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelors of Science in Agricultural Business Management, while earning a minor in Animal Science. During his time at Oregon State, Beau was a member of the 2004 competitive livestock judging team as well as several student clubs. Before attending Oregon State, Beau graduated from Canby High School in Canby, Oregon.

 

Beau is native to the Canby-Molalla area, having been raised on a farm between the two cities. He plans on remaining here now that his education has been completed. In his free time, Beau enjoys hunting, fishing, watching Beaver football, making hay in the summer, and spending time with his family.
