Tyler Smith - Founder and Managing Attorney, OSB# 075287, ISB#8812

 

Tyler is a 1999 graduate of the University of Oregon and his Juris Doctorate from Willamette Law.  In his prior career building business start-up teams, Tyler established himself as one of the most successful and respected Silicon Valley headhunters. Tyler has a strong background in business, sales, and company start up.  Prior to starting Tyler Smith & Associates the law firm Tyler last worked for Microsoft.  Tyler is a past City Counselor, and past Chair of the Planning Commission for the City of Hubbard,. He worked for the DLCD and Big Look Commission as a policy analyst during the first round of policy recommendations they made to the legislature on local law reforms.  Tyler worked heavily on one of the few land use reform recomendations adopted by the Legislature giving some local control back to regions by making the regionalization process simpler and more meaningful.  During law school he worked as a law clerk at O'Donnell and Clark LLP. Tyler is a former Army Combat Engineer and attended the Oregon Military Academy.  Tyler is a proud veteran and frequently represents veterans in veterans issues. Tyler was a past re-founder of the Willamette Law Federalist Society, Law Journal Articles Editor, and Moot Court Member.  With both an academic and a real world perspective, Tyler can see all perspectives to a problem and develop multifaceted solutions to your issue.

Nathan Goin- Associate Attorney

 

Nathan was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 2011, after graduating with Honors from Willamette University College of Law. While at Willamette Nathan was a member of Law Review and the Journal of International Law and Dispute Resolution.

He also served as the President of the Christian legal Society, tried misdemeanor cases as a student prosecutor with the Marion County District Attorney’s Office, participated in the family law clinic, and clerked for our firm. While clerking with us he played a key role in some of the initial property analysis that enabled the Oregon School for the Blind and the Oregon School for the Deaf to fight to retain approximately $6,000,000 in donated property. 

Prior to attending law school Nathan managed high exposure workers’ compensation claims for Wausau Insurance.
